Ted Thisse was the first Camp Director of the new Camp Horizon. He and Karen served from 1972-1977 (or 78) Mike Nelson (Carolyn) would serve as interim Camp Director later. Mike was one of three young men that served under Ted at Lakewood Retreat that would become Camp Directors. His brother Jack Nelson and Steve Slusser would also be a part of Ted’s legacy. Several others served on the camp board, were camp speakers, and entered full time Christian service. Only the Lord knows the impact of Ted and Karen’s years at Camp Horizon.
