Not only was the carpet new, but the four-inch stage was removed. This made it possible to arrange the room for different purposes. A set of portable stages was donated that were three different heights for chorus use. Ralph made several of the the same height (about the height of a chair seat) which made it more fun to watch skits. Before, usually only the front row saw what was happening.
Without the stages, the speaker has more room and more rows of chairs could be added.
